Clients turn to Juliann for her expertise in HHRA and toxicology assessments. An expert in multipathway risk assessments under federal and state programs including CERCLA/Superfund, the Clean Water Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), she works with clients to conduct HHRAs for complex and large sites. She frequently leads assessments to evaluate exposure to substances including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), volatile organic compounds, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, pesticides, metals, petroleum products, and asbestos, in soil, soil vapor, water, sediment, and indoor air.
Juliann works on behalf of businesses and municipalities to conduct consumer product risk assessments for Proposition 65 (California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act) compliance. Her work includes assessments of product formulations, product use scenarios, and studies of extent of exposure to employees and consumers. She also often reviews consumer products for compliance under United States Environmental Protection Agency regulations, the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), and TSCA programs. One notable example is her assessment of artificial turf for use in school settings.
