Inclusion, Diversity & Equity

At Geosyntec, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, equitable and diverse environment for all our employees, clients, partners, and the communities we serve.

Our Programs

Geosyntec has many established programs to support our diverse workforce, including:

  • Diversity Council—We recognize that embodying an inclusive culture is an ongoing journey that requires consistent and sustained investment from all levels across the firm. Our efforts are directed by an internal Diversity Council, consisting of employees who represent various aspects of the firm’s diversity. This independent council works closely with our leadership and Human Resources to provide direction and guidance for our diversity program at Geosyntec.
  • Women’s Mentoring Program—This grassroots program is an important avenue for individuals interested in supporting connections between women and non-conforming individuals to connect and support each other, by providing helpful resources and mentoring to advance women’s and gender non-conforming individuals’ career development.
  • Mentorship and Employee Resource Programs—We are committed to offering mentoring and collaboration opportunities to all employees in all stages of their career. These programs connect individuals throughout the firm and delivers impactful mentorship and support, driven by the employee’s personalized goals.
  • Inclusion Engagement Channels—Across 100 locations and 15 time-zones we provide a number of on-line forums for sharing constructive content related to inclusion and belonging. Open communication among employees through these channels raises our collective awareness and affirms our commitment to anti-discrimination, celebrations of all cultures, and conscious inclusion.
  • Education and Training Resources—We provide customized resources to educate and train employees to prevent discrimination and foster an environment of inclusion and belonging.
  • Campus Outreach—We partner with a range of organizations on college campuses to network and engage with a broad spectrum of candidates to continue to grow our talent pipeline.
  • Our Commitment—We are committed to the sustained self-examination and investment required to build intercultural competence across our organization, including in all of our leaders. We are not done. We are a work in progress with many opportunities to continue to encourage inclusion and belonging in all that we do.

Health and Safety

Geosyntec Consultants is committed to providing a safe and healthful work place. We pride ourselves on the high level of quality work performed by our professionals and are committed to achieving the same level of health and safety performance.

Four workers wearing safety vests and hard hats stand on a construction site, looking toward a drainage area and a group of workers in the distance. Power lines and a blue sky with clouds are in the background.

The foundation of this commitment is based upon the firm’s behavior-based safety programs—an integral part of the Geosyntec culture. Accordingly, all staff members are trained to follow specific health and safety procedures to help them assess potential risks and avoid recognized hazards through effective risk management.
Geosyntec’s Health and Safety (H&S) Program is designed to recognize safety-critical behaviors, ensure staff understands them, and ultimately protect the well-being of our employees, clients, and general public. The behavior-based safety program includes the following components:

  • Active leadership involvement with management
  • Systems to support safe behavior to include audits and positive observations
  • An organization that is open and supportive of safety concerns and communications
  • Measurement along with accountability of safety activities and performance to confirm participation and commitment to the H&S Program
