Jordan Rattray is Geosyntec’s Chief Legal Officer. She is based in Michigan and brings more than 20 years of experience navigating an increasingly complex legal landscape within our growing international company, managing regulatory compliance, contracts reviews, and negotiations; handling risk management and conflict issues; and supporting operations within legal boundaries.

In her more than 10 years leading the firm’s legal department, she created risk management processes, developed guidance and legal frameworks, and supported her colleagues as the company doubled its workforce, expanded into new countries, and took on a private-equity investor. To address these transformations and support both colleagues and external clients, she has grown the legal department to encompass subject-matter experts in contracting, risk management, compliance, corporate governance, and intellectual property.
Relying on her deep experience supporting engineering consultants, Jordan provides practical, business-oriented, and risk-aware advice. She and her department navigate the legal aspects of the firm’s civil and environmental consulting work, including conducting go/no-go assessments, creating and reviewing agreements and contracts, managing outside legal counsel, handling claims against the company, managing global insurance, and supporting the company’s acquisition strategy.
Jordan empowers her colleagues around the world as they solve complicated problems for clients and is motivated every day to create meaningful opportunities for own her team’s professional growth.
