Client Service

Berkley leads Geosyntec’s Maryland information management and GIS group, offering geospatial solutions to support projects throughout their life cycles. This process begins with project planning and progresses to field-data collection and analysis and visualization of results. This work is then used to plan subsequent project phases. He has applied technologies such as geometric networks, linear referencing, and other geospatial-analysis workflows, to help stakeholders make informed decisions while conducting strategic environmental remediation.

A GIS lead on large-scale projects, Berkley implements GIS database architecture and integrates various data sources. Through Geosyntec’s enterprise GIS platform, which he helped develop, he facilitates multiuser editing and real-time visualization with customized dashboards.

Since becoming certified as a remote pilot by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2017, Berkley has conducted many sUAS missions, including those involving photogrammetry, LiDAR, and inspections. The data he collects and processes is used to create high-resolution imagery and surface topography, which becomes a base layer for 3D modeling and cross sections. An example of his remote-sensing work involved collecting photogrammetry data at a 280-acre landfill-remediation site to track construction progress, conduct volumetric analysis, and facilitate onsite navigation.

In addition to supporting development of Geosyntec’s Enterprise GIS system, he helps set company-wide standards and promotes innovative analytical approaches throughout the firm.
