Client Service
On behalf of clients in the private and public sectors, Ashkan conducts human-health and ecological risk assessments, contaminant fate and transport modeling, soil-vapor-intrusion assessments, phased environmental site assessments, and remediation. He has conducted and managed a range of projects in support of property transactions, contaminated site management, and brownfield redevelopment.
He handles risk-assessment projects of varying scale and complexity to address contaminated lands; such work includes due diligence and screening-level risk evaluation and assessments, O.Reg.153/04 risk assessments, preliminary quantitative risk assessments, detailed quantitative risk assessments, and risk assessments in support of community-based environmental-impact studies. He uses the outcomes of these assessments and studies to guide the development of remedial, environmental monitoring, and risk management plans to mitigate, track, and manage human-health and ecological risks and environmental liabilities.
Additionally, Ashkan has extensive experience in Ontario Regulation 153/04 brownfield redevelopment, ranging from small projects that require Record of Site Condition (RSC) filing to large projects that transform industrial lands burdened with environmental impacts to soil and groundwater into high-value sustainable residential communities with commercial amenities, parks, and other infrastructure.
