Project Specifics
Geosyntec was involved from concept to completion for the engineering, approvals (Nakheel, Trakhees, and Dubai Municipality), and site supervision of the entire marine and beach works for the prestigious Atlantis Royal development on Palm Jumeirah.
Geosyntec Scope of Services
As the coastal and marine engineering consultant, Geosyntec performed the full detailed design and obtained approvals of the marine components of the project, including an arrival and departure jetty, a Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) water taxi stop, pontoon utilities and accessories, shoreline protection, rock revetments, and beaches. After completing numerous studies and planning and design exercises, we helped the client navigate the approval process by obtaining all permitting/no objection certificates (NOCs) for the marine work, including concept design, detailed design and construction, and completion.
Notable Accomplishments
Throughout this process, we coordinated with Trakhees on the project to keep them abreast of project progress. This effort culminated in the summer of 2012, when the project was granted the Marine Completion Certificate, including handover to the client for the operational phase.
Note: At the time of this project, Geosyntec practitioners were contracted as ATM, which was acquired by Geosyntec.
