Client Service

Relying on his exceptional experience, Gary provides practical environmental due diligence services for financial transactions related to businesses and properties. These services include acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures of commercial and industrial facilities across the globe. He works with private equity firms, law firms, and industry to evaluate environmental risk in the context of a transaction. Gary also offers experience in environmental regulatory matters and can therefore provide risk perspectives for both property and regulatory liability. He has worked with numerous business sectors, including chemical, aerospace, automotive, food, packaging, data centers, healthcare, and oil & gas.

Understanding the nature of the deal structure, timing, and complexity of target sites and operations allows Gary to design due diligence efforts best suited to meet the needs of his clients. In addition to his work managing Phase I environmental site assessments, he often leads regulatory compliance evaluations, pre-acquisition sustainability reviews, product stewardship reviews, assessments of liabilities to workers, physical property condition assessments, and evaluations of adherence to state-specific programs in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Michigan.

Gary considers communication with his clients to be of utmost importance in all stages of a business transaction, particularly in the early stage, when it can inform the client regarding options such as deal restructure or termination. He also understands the importance of collaborating with subject matter experts throughout Geosyntec to help clients address issues like vapor intrusion, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), impacts and liability related to off-site sources, and restrictions on property use and future property development.
