Client Service

Energy service providers seek Chris’ expertise to address land-development and permitting issues associated with electrical substations, generation sites, linear transmission projects, and laydown yards to meet critical milestones associated with planned outages and demanding energization and construction schedules. To accomplish this, he directs and conducts site evaluations, site permitting, civil design, erosion control compliance, and stormwater management design. His vast experience and understanding of local ordinances and stormwater management regulations in Virginia, North Carolina, and throughout the Mid-Atlantic allow his clients valuable time to focus on material orders, electrical physical design, and RTO planned outtages to keep their projects on schedule.

With wide-ranging technical expertise, attention to value engineering, and constructability focus, Chris has spent his career solving complex environmental and engineering challenges for power and industrial clients. He has led and designed hundreds of infrastructure and land development projects, including substation site-civil site plans, power-generation sites, highway designs, and numerous site evaluations and feasibility studies.

As co-leader of Geosyntec’s internal site civil services practice group, Chris connects subject matter experts across practices to infrastructure development opportunities, seeks business development opportunities through practitioners throughout the company, and mentors early-career staff members. Chris also serves on the steering committee for the firm’s data center group, where he guides strategic efforts related to power service connectivity, land development, and permitting.
