Robert Bachus, Ph.D., PE, (Georgia) will present “Lessons and Challenges from Rehabilitation of a Major Landslide in Colluvium” and Duane Graves, Ph.D., (Tennessee) will present “Challenges and Benefits of Analyzing Environmental Samples for SARS-CoV-2 Virus” at the Chattanooga Development Symposium on November 10, 2020.

Bob is a Senior Principal Engineer based in Georgia with more than 30 years of professional experience focused on geotechnical engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, waste by-product characterization, and the permitting and design of waste containment facilities.

Duane is a Senior Principal Scientist based in Tennessee with more than 30 years of experience focused on environmental biotechnology; environmental forensics; in situ groundwater, soil, and sediment remediation; evaluation of airborne biological contaminants; and remediation of groundwater in karst formations.

ASCE Chattanooga Branch is partnering with the City of Chattanooga and other organizations to present the Chattanooga Development Symposium again this year. The purpose of this symposium is to provide a platform for governing bodies and other organizations to disseminate information and open communication with engineers, surveyors, architects, landscape architects, academia, and the development community in hopes of streamlining development in the greater Chattanooga area.

The Chattanooga Branch of the ASCE Tennessee Section strives to advance the engineering profession through regular educational seminars and community involvement.
