Geosyntec Practitioners to Speak at and Attend Global Waste Management Symposium

Geosyntec practitioners Sean O’Donnell, PE, PhD; Livingstone Dumenu, PhD, EI; Scott Graves, PE, and Yovanna Cortes Di Lena, PE, PhD, will speak at the 2024 Global Waste Management Symposium, which will be held February 25 through 28 in Indian Wells, California. In addition to the speakers, many Geosyntec practitioners will be in attendance. Geosyntec is a silver-level sponsor of the symposium.

Sean is a Geotechnical Engineer focused on geotechnical design, analysis, and monitoring of waste containment structures. His research background involves the study of biologically mediated ground improvement, and in particular, the use of denitrifying microorganisms to mitigate earthquake-induced soil liquefaction.

Livingstone is a Civil Engineer focused on structural and geoenvironmental engineering and soil mechanics. In addition to developing specifications, plans, and designs for civil and geotechnical systems, he plans and executes research studies and experiments on construction materials testing and analysis and civil and geotechnical engineering analysis.

Scott is a Senior Principal Engineer with more than 25 years of experience focused on geotechnical, environmental, and water resources engineering. He has supported permitting or design of over twenty major landfills and surface impoundments in the United States. His specialties include civil layout and site grading; slope stability evaluations; drainage design; consolidation and settlement analyses; landfill gas extraction system layout and analysis; retaining wall design; leachate generation studies and collection system design; and roadway design and layout.

Yovanna is a Geotechnical Engineer with more than 10 years of experience focused on characterization and remediation of contaminated sites, environmental compliance monitoring, construction and engineering services, and data management. She has supported soil and bedrock boring, monitoring well installation, and in situ treatment of groundwater.
