Geosyntec Practitioners Contribute to AEG 2026

Edisson Ortega Avila, PE; Adam Plazek; Max Cange, PG; and Caleb Okpala will speak at the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) Annual Meeting on September 14 through 19, 2026, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Geosyntec will sponsor the Thursday morning technical session on identifying, characterizing, and evaluating geologic and seismic hazards, beginning at 8:00 a.m. ET.

Edisson is a Geotechnical Engineer based in Tennessee with experience in geotechnical engineering and construction. He specializes in site investigations and assessments for dams, spillways, and landslides, and he has contributed to large- and small-scale remediation and construction projects, supporting clients across the public and private sectors.

Adam is a Geotechnical Professional based in Tennessee whose work focuses on dams and levees, including dam safety assessments, inspections, forensics, design, and remediation. He provides support and recommendations on dam sites for future inspection, monitoring, and structure investigation.

Max is a Senior Geologist based in Tennessee with experience focused on geology and geological and environmental engineering. He supports remediation and geotechnical projects, with an emphasis on site investigations and strategic planning, programmatic support for coal combustion residual (CCR) facilities, and geotechnical instrumentation management and monitoring.

Caleb is a Senior Staff Professional based in Tennessee with experience in dam safety, site investigations and assessments, subsurface investigations and drilling oversight, CCR Rule compliance, and facility inspections. He has experience supporting dam projects, as well as leading and supervising sonic drilling operations during geotechnical investigations.

The AEG Annual Meeting brings together geoscience professionals to share best practices, explore innovative solutions, and gain new perspectives on the environmental and engineering geology challenges shaping the future.
