The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources of the Government of Ghana required the final closure of the Kpone Landfill, a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill located along the coastal part of Tema, in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The landfill consists of four cells and occupies a total of approximately 16 hectares (40 acres).
