Investigation/Remediation/Closure for One Hour Dry Cleaners
SFI planned to redevelop the project site and surrounding vicinity with construction of 381 three-story apartment units and two retail/commercial units in addition to a club house and other amenities such as community park and swimming pool.The redevelopment area included two release sites (a dry cleaner and a gas station) going through concurrent investigation/remediation activities. The contaminant plume from gas station release had migrated and comingled with the contaminant plume at the dry cleaner presenting remedial challenges at the dry cleaner. Vapor intrusion (VI) concerns from both gasoline and dry cleaner release at a sensitive receptor (a school) located in the immediate vicinity of the dry cleaner added a further layer of complexity.
