Client Service

Sid’s expertise spans waste by-product characterization, contaminated site assessment and remediation, sediment and waterway evaluation, and the design and permitting of waste containment facilities. He combines deep technical knowledge, practical solutions, with advanced data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver innovative solutions for complex engineering and environmental challenges.

Recognized as a leader in geotechnical site characterization, Sid has extensive experience with in situ terrestrial and underwater investigations and laboratory testing, as well as with settlement, slope-stability, and seepage analyses. He is also adept at performance monitoring of geotechnical and earthen structures. Sid’s expertise includes numerical modeling, geosynthetics design, and static and seismic analysis for critical infrastructure such as dams, low-level radioactive-waste facilities, municipal solid waste landfills, underwater capping systems, and coal combustion residuals (CCR) containment facilities.

On behalf of clients, Sid has directed and managed large-scale, interdisciplinary projects for major power utilities, including CCR pond closures and plant operation design and management across all phases, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, permit design, detailed design, construction support, and long-term performance monitoring. To support sediment assessment and remediation projects, Sid takes innovative and practical approaches to optimize geotechnical data collection, analysis, and sediment capping while minimizing underwater instability and enhancing outcomes.

As a firm-wide leader in technological evolution, Sid supports his clients and colleagues as they integrate machine learning and AI into engineering workflows and internal enterprise processes. He also works with other leaders in the firm to develop and share guidelines and best practices for ethical, responsible, and sustainable use of these technologies. Through the strategic application of automation and predictive analytics, Sid enables clients and colleagues to make more timely, intelligent, and data-driven decisions, thereby enhancing project delivery and operational effectiveness.

Committed to advancing industry best practices, Sid frequently presents at professional conferences, client workshops, and technical forums. He has authored or coauthored over 33 peer-reviewed papers and technical reports, with his research cited more than 750 times globally.
