Client Service

Darren delivers practical, efficient, and robust solutions to complex geo-environmental challenges, aligning projects with client expectations and managing environmental risk.

With expertise in the design of liner and containment systems, Darren specializes in the use of geosynthetics across complex applications, bringing in-depth knowledge of geosynthetic material performance and durability under varied exposure conditions. He designs solutions for highly caustic and acidic liquors, brines, and solid waste, as well as for soils impacted by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), lead, and hydrocarbons.

In addition, Darren supports clients during construction, commissioning, and operations of tailings, landfill, and dam facilities., including identifying risk-driving potential failure modes. He has designed filtered tailings storage facilities that incorporate strategies to enhance drying and control dust emissions.

Darren also conducts hazardous-gas risk assessments, including of landfill gas, and he designs mitigation strategies for complex site development. He has worked closely with prime (Tier 1) contractors on major design and construct alliances for high-profile infrastructure projects such as WestConnex, which is the largest and longest road tunnel in Australia, and North East Link, a major highway in Melbourne.

In service to his profession, Darren has authored several technical papers on geosynthetics and containment and has presented at prominent national and international industry conferences including Paste and IGS conferences.
