Client Service
Throughout his career, Dave has conducted geotechnical investigations, provided geotechnical services, and led remediation at complex sites during construction throughout Northern California. He often serves as general contractor and construction manager at sites with strict environmental safety and compliance requirements and manages the health and safety concerns for on-site workers and offsite public receptors while maintaining positive relationships with local communities. Throughout his career Dave has provided value engineering to provide better outcomes for clients. He uses his knowledge and experience to reduce direct and indirect costs, improve project schedules, reduce safety and compliance risk, and communicate constructively with stakeholders.
Dave managed a team of engineers and geologists to develop the plans and specifications for the remediation of the Former Southern Pacific Railroad Sacramento Railyard and served as the remediation construction manager for the multiyear soil remediation program. He also supported remediation for the CalPERS Headquarters expansion project and the 72-acre Curtis Park Railyard site and has served as project director for large and complex brownfield projects. Recently, David completed complex remediation projects for Pacific Gas & Electric including several former manufactured gas plant sites, one of which was an offshore sediments remediation project involving dredging and capping in San Francisco Bay.
Among clients and colleagues, Dave is a recognized safety leader. He piloted a safety program that was later implemented across a 4,000-person global consulting firm. In addition, he is a Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and is well versed in the concepts of Safety Differently, Safety II, and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP). He shares his knowledge with high-risk workers and with clients through impactful tailgate safety meetings, all-hands premobilization safety briefings, biweekly safety committee meetings, and unsolicited safety shares with clients to promote systemwide improvements.
