Olga Stewart, PE, PMP, and Sean O’Donnell, PhD, PE, will present “Solid Waste Master Planning: The Key to Providing Reliable and Effective Service to Alaska’s Communities” at Alaska Forum 2026.
Alaska’s vast landscapes, dispersed communities, extreme climates, and evolving energy needs present some of the most complex power‑system challenges in the United States.
Alaska is accelerating its transition to renewable energy. In this discussion, Anchorage-based Principal Environmental Engineer Olga Stewart discusses the state’s desire for higher energy security and how Geosyntec is helping utilities in the Last Frontier realize their options.
The Geosyntec Family of Companies announces the promotion of 41 individuals to the position of Principal. Each of these new Principals has made significant contributions to delivering outstanding projects to first-class clients, developing strong relationships with those clients, building our practices, leveraging their own expertise and experience of their colleagues, recruiting outstanding staff, and working collaboratively with their coworkers.
While it's not rare for Geosyntec employees to spend a month in the field, the month of fieldwork completed by Senior Environmental Engineer Olga Stewart (PE), Senior Engineering Geologist Jared Warner (P.G., CEG, CPG), and Senior Geotechnical Engineer Jay Griffin (PE) last summer was truly exceptional. Last May, the three practitioners were part of a team of 25 who travelled to one of the most remote areas in Alaska's Aleutian Chain, Amchitka Island. There, the team set up a temporary camp and lived and worked together for a month.
Olga Stewart, PE, PMP (Alaska) was named 2021 Alaska Engineer of the Year during National Engineers Week Anchorage. She received the award at the National Engineers Week Anchorage Virtual Banquet on February 26, 2022.
Olga Stewart, PE, PMP, (Alaska) was nominated for Alaska Engineer of the Year by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Olga's nomination for the statewide title comes after being named Greatland SWE's Engineer of the Year. She is one of five engineers nominated by professional engineering organizations across Alaska, all of whom will vie for the title of Alaska Engineer of the Year at the National Engineers Week Anchorage Banquet in Anchorage on February 26, 2022 at 6 p.m.
Olga Stewart is a Principal Environmental Engineer based in Alaska with 20 years of experience focused on strategic planning for complex projects across Alaska.
