Project Specifics

Geosyntec practitioners provided full-service marina and coastal engineering consulting for a private development near San Jose del Cabo. The development property fronts the Sea of Cortez and includes a state-of-the-art marina with golf courses, hotels, commercial and residential offerings, a Mexican village, and an eco-park.

Geosyntec Scope of Services

Geosyntec reviewed the initial marina design against a comprehensive marina market assessment, designed basin and slip layout, evaluated bank stabilization and excavation, analyzed coastal engineering and breakwater, modeled numerical waves for entrance protection, and supported technical specifications and bidding support. Our team helped the Mexican project team with marina design elements and specifications; technical review of entrance and shoreline protection structure design and specifications; and revision of excavation and dredging plans.

Notable Accomplishments

Geosyntec’s creative marina design enabled the client to receive the maximum benefit from the upland development by creating more waterfront property. This, in turn, increased the client’s financial position by allowing a greater variety of boating users.

Note: At the time of this project, Geosyntec practitioners were contracted as ATM, which was acquired by Geosyntec.
