« All Projects

Project Objective

A global manufacturing client with over 100 facilities across North America, Europe, and the South Pacific sought an independent audit of their 2022 greenhouse gas (GHG) corporate emissions statement before submitting it to the CDP for public disclosure.

Geosyntec’s Scope of Services

Geosyntec audited the client’s GHG inventory to verify that it was prepared according to the requirements of the international reporting standards of the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064.

Geosyntec reviewed GHG emission sources for individual facilities, analyzed organizational boundaries, and independently verified facility GHG emissions calculations. Geosyntec provided recommendations for updating the standard operating procedures used by the company for collection and management of facility data. Geosyntec also reviewed the embedded emission factors and calculations in the company’s cloud-based ESG-data-management system.

Geosyntec provided weekly updates of any identified material misstatements or errors to the client so that they could correct these issues. Geosyntec continues to provide the client with GHG advisory support by developing science-based targets for emission reduction.

Notable Accomplishments

Geosyntec completed the work under an accelerated two-month timeline. This work included identifying cost-saving opportunities that can be achieved by employing low carbon business strategies and a GHG-emissions-reduction roadmap. Geosyntec’s work is helping the client manage environmental impacts so that they can identify a clear path to corporate decarbonization.
