Project Objective

Lantmännen, an agricultural cooperative and Northern Europe’s leader in agriculture, machinery, bioenergy, and food products, retained Geosyntec to undertake our unique holistic due diligence. The target, specialty fuel supplier Coryton, has a strong base in the United Kingdom and operates in Europe and the American continents. If successful, the acquisition would give Lantmännen opportunities and synergies within the growing sustainable fuel segment.

Geosyntec’s Scope of Services

Geosyntec, along with our CAT Alliance, Ltd. partners, kicked off our new holistic due diligence service to the mergers and acquisition sector. Our holistic due diligence provides full in-house technical due diligence, including property, operations, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance offerings, in addition to traditional environmental due diligence also offered by our competitors. Working this way and including our client’s other due diligence teams (legal, finance, and commercial) gave the client sound and unbiased holistic reporting and allowed them to be more certain about their risks.

Notable Accomplishments

Geosyntec helped the client to develop a thorough knowledge of sitewide EHS, ESG, technical, and operational facts, providing them with known and potential risk certainty, and setting expectations regarding future operational expenditures (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX). Project deliverables from Geosyntec enabled our client to make a considered offer, secure the deal to purchase the target, and integrate it successfully into their portfolio of companies and operations.
