Project Objective
Historical operations of a manufactured gas plant (MGP) in Orlando, Florida from ~1887 to 1959 resulted in the release and on-Site disposal of chemical by-products, including coal tar. The historic releases resulted in soil and groundwater becoming impacted by metals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (NAPLs).

Notable Accomplishments
Geosyntec has managed a multi-party PRP Group and engaged multiple stakeholders to successfully move a complex MGP Site through the remedial design/remedial action process. Data associated with the first six months of system operations documented the remediation system achieving the objectives. During design and implementation Geosyntec identified measures to meet ROD objectives while reducing capital and and anticipated long term remediation costs.
