Tom has provided technical support and guidance on regulatory issues such as chemical product hazard classification, EU REACH registration and authorization, safety data sheets, and product labeling. He has led consultations with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) on the need for bona fide requests for individual chemistries and has submitted multiple pre-manufacture notices (PMNs) to USEPA and has completed similar filings in Canada. He directs and conducts extensive quality assurance/quality control reviews of project deliverables for scientific accuracy and interfaces with clients directly to communicate project requirements, timelines, and budgets.

In service to his profession, Tom has been president, secretary, and treasurer of the Northland Chapter of the Society of Toxicology. During his time at 3M, he won a Golden Step Team Award: Corporate Quality Award for Technical Support in recognition for his innovative work.
