Srini Varadhan is a Principal Environmental Engineer based in Ontario, Canada with more than 12 years of engineering, research, and consultation experience focused on large-scale and complex soil and groundwater remediation programs, process engineering design and implementation for groundwater and wastewater treatment, mine water management, remediation system operation and maintenance, feasibility study pilot testing, site strategy development, and project delivery.
As a Principal Environmental Engineer, Srini has helped clients in manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, and legacy remediation, to develop acceptable site closure strategies for challenging sites throughout North America, including several state and federal Superfund sites. He has also developed and applied site-specific bioremediation, chemical oxidation (ISCO), in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR) and innovative bioreactor technologies to address recalcitrant organics and metals from the feasibility evaluation, pilot testing, scale-up, construction management, project execution, through the operations and maintenance (O&M) optimization phases.
To advance the state of the practice, Srini draws on his multidisciplinary engineering skills and experience to develop successful solutions for his clients in alignment with their goals and objectives. He has successfully championed several large cross-disciplinary groundwater remediation systems for different types of contaminants in challenging site conditions including several first-to-field systems. He continues to research and publish on the state of knowledge and advancement on management of emerging contaminants including but not limited to 1,2,3-trichloropropane, sulfolane, selenium, nickel, 1,4-dioxane, and PFAS.
