Satu has managed several complex due diligence assignments for financiers, international equity or infrastructure investors, energy companies, and industrial and real estate clients in the Nordics, Europe, the United States, and China. In addition, Satu has involved in energy market studies and climate projects.

Satu has extensive expertise in energy projects addressing wind and solar power, district heating, combined heat and power, nuclear energy, electricity and gas distribution, hydropower and smart energy. In the recent years, Satu has assisted wind and solar power as well as battery storage (BESS) developers regarding environmental aspects, land-use requirements, and stakeholder engagement.

In addition, Satu completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and Department of Genetics. There she studied black willow trees as potential candidates for phytoremediation and transferred mercury-resistant genes to Eastern cottonwood trees to be used for the phytoremediation of mercury-contaminated soils.
