Sam is a key member of Geosyntec’s COVID-19 response team assisting clients with the implementation of best management practices for returning to work safely and wastewater testing as a bellwether indicator of potential outbreaks.

Utilizing his experience in site characterization and innovative remediation programs to work with clients on converting impacted properties into community assets as commercial developments through Brownfields site redevelopment programs, Sam has worked at numerous multi-party state and federal Superfund sites, RCRA facilities, Brownfields, and UST sites throughout Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Texas. Areas of specialization include remedial investigations/feasibility studies, Brownfields redevelopment, fate and transport of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, and groundwater, risk assessments and risk-based corrective action, burn site characterization and remediation, and expert consultation in support of litigation.

Sam has served as a testifying expert witness for over 30 years. He has testified on matters related to the fate and transport of contaminants in soil and groundwater, adequacy of due diligence efforts during property transfers, metals contaminated sites, damages associated with environmental remediation, source timing and delineation, environmental forensics, cost allocation, NCP compliance, and cost recovery. He has testified on matters associated with landfills, aerospace manufacturing facilities, gun ranges, plating shops, refineries and bulk fuel terminals and retail service stations. He has testified on sites impacted with heavy metals (arsenic, chromium, copper, lead and zinc), chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, PCBs, and fuel hydrocarbons.
