Robert Bruce is a Senior Principal Engineer based in Texas with more than 30 years of experience focused on geotechnical, environmental, and civil engineering projects.
Robert specializes in the design and management of complex environmental remediation projects, and engineering and construction related to oil and natural gas exploration, production, and processing in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Peru, Columbia, Bangladesh, China, Turkey, Philippines, Cambodia and the US.
With significant experience in management of large-scale civil and environmental construction, Robert's practice includes developing plans, preparing and evaluating bids, contract administration, developing and implementing safety programs, regulatory liaison, project controls, and managing daily operations.
Offering a unique combination of technical expertise and hands-on construction knowledge enables Robert to identify critical path problems and focus resources on developing and implementing practical and cost effective solutions. He has substantial experience in building and managing multicultural teams of local personnel and firms, and then integrating Geosyntec's established capabilities and resources to achieve project objectives.
He managed the two-year, $30 million closure of a manufacturing site involving low-level radioactive wastes in Malaysia. Other recent projects include site planning studies for a proposed LNG export facility in a highly seismic area on the coast of Peru; geotechnical evaluations to reduce groundwater impacts around sulfur pads at a major oil facility in Kazakhstan; and on site consultation related to design and construction of an emergency well pad and gas collection system to control a gas well blow out in Bangladesh.
