Paula Hutchison is a Principal Engineer based in Ontario with more than 14 years of environmental engineering experience assisting clients in Canada and the United States.
Paula’s practice is focused on helping clients find solutions to difficult challenges related to environmental due diligence and compliance, contaminated site management, and brownfield redevelopment. Her work has guided clients with environmental due diligence support related to property acquisitions and divestures. She has been involved in all aspects of environmental project work including contaminated site strategy development, site investigation and characterization, vapour intrusion assessments, remedial engineering design and implementation, litigation technical support, contract development, construction management, and liaison with agency and regulatory representatives. Paula has also supported her clients in defining and advancing towards their Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) objectives.
As a consultant and Qualified Person for Environmental Site Assessment (QPESA), Paula has supported her client’s in various aspects of the Record of Site Condition (RSC) program under Ontario Regulation 153/04, as amended. She has conducted and managed a range of projects for private and public-sector clients and developers. Paula has also supported numerous risk assessments, many of which have been used to support the risk management, remediation, and redevelopment of brownfield properties. Her career experience covers a variety of client sectors, including the legal community, downstream oil and gas, chemical, manufacturing and land development industries.
To advance the state of the practice, Paula is active on Geosyntec’s Environmental Management Action Group steering committee and is voluntary member of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE).
