Najwa Pitois is a Senior Engineer based in California with more than 15 years of experience focused on integrated water resource management.

Najwa uses her background in water resources management, hydrologic analysis, and environmental policy to assist water agencies with water supply reliability analysis and strategic planning. Her work includes integrated resource planning and modeling; strategies for managing water portfolios including supply diversification, conjunctive use, evaluation of acquisition of new supplies, development or participation in banking and exchange programs, and alternative operating schedules; and hydrologic analysis.

As agencies face new challenges for ensuring water security under increased uncertainty in future hydrology due to climate change, growth in populations, increased regulatory restrictions, and risks of natural disasters, holistic approaches to managing water resources to ensure continued reliability, sustainability, and resiliency are crucial more than ever. Najwa continues to advance her practice by using new tools and technological platforms to develop realistic dynamic models of water resource systems in order to carry out reliability analyses, evaluate potential environmental impacts, support strategic planning, and make balanced resource management decisions.
