Matt Basso is a Senior Consultant based in New Jersey with more than 30 years of experience focused on environmental due diligence processes and environmental health & safety (EHS) compliance auditing while employed in Fortune 100 corporations within the pharmaceutical sector; deep experience in Industrial Hygiene with key strengths in site investigation and remediation.
Matt's practice experience includes serving as lead EHS compliance auditor for all global regional areas within the pharmaceutical sector along-with designation as environmental due diligence practice lead to Business Development groups within major pharmaceutical, animal health, and agrichemical companies.
As a consultant, he also helps clients with the practical application of assessment tools for quantifying Pharmaceuticals in the Environment (PiE) for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations with focus on Asian suppliers of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). Remediation Project Manager (RPM) of record for several RCRA Clean-up projects including complex Vapor Intrusion aspects involving sensitive site receptors associated with legacy pharmaceutical and agrichemical operations. Technical Committee representative to numerous Primary Responsible Party (PRP) groups for Superfund (CERCLA) clean-up projects with direct involvement into remedial design /remedial action development and implementation, including groundwater treatment system design and construction, soil vapor extraction w/ interim air sparging (SVE /AS) systems, final capping via vegetative restoration remedy. Wide experience with site investigations and remedial clean-up projects across international regions.
Matt previously held positions within Global EHS and Global Engineering at Pfizer Inc., and separately at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and the American Home Products Corp. -American Cyanamid conglomerate company. Matt has been responsible for managing environmental reserve budgets for complex environmental projects that also required separate capital programs to address decontamination, decommissioning and demolition. Matt is an active member of the Alliance of Hazardous Material Professionals (AHMP).
