Justin Knight is a Principal Environmental Engineer based in Georgia with more than 15 years of experience focused on managing federal environmental projects in the areas of vapor intrusion (VI) assessment and mitigation, high-resolution site characterization, soil and groundwater remediation, and project management.


As a project manager, Justin has provided environmental engineering services for large-scale projects for the U.S. Air Force (USAF), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Navy, and U.S. National Guard. He has acted as Deputy Program Manager, Delivery Order Manager, or Project Manager on several multi-year contracts with the Department of Defense, including IDIQ Contracts at Robins Air Force Base, VI Investigation and Remedial Pilot Studies at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, and VI Investigation at Fort Gillem. The range of environmental services he has provided to his clients include VI investigations, site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial designs, corrective actions, long-term monitoring, remedial system optimization, community relations, environmental assessments (EAs), and environmental baseline surveys (EBSs).

Justin's team of engineers and scientists won a 2017 ACEC Georgia Engineering Excellence Honor Award for the successful and innovative consulting engineering services provided by Geosyntec on the Fort Gillem VI Investigation.  Justin has been an invited speaker at several large environmental conferences in the United States to speak on VI forensic analysis techniques to differentiate background volatile sources from subsurface volatile sources, Building Pressure Control (BPC) for VI assessment, VI investigation and Conceptual Site Model (CSM) development using high volume sampling, and VI mitigation using aerated floor systems (i.e., Cupolex).
