Hari Parthasarathy is a Principal Environmental Engineer based in Georgia with more than 10 years of industry and academic experience focused on water chemistry and water and wastewater treatment system design and operation.

On behalf of his clients, Hari combines his expertise in water chemistry with process engineering and design to treat complex waste streams. Hari has led the design of several treatment systems that address chemical and biological oxygen demand, heavy metals, iron and manganese, and recalcitrant compounds including selenium, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and N-nitroso dimethylamine (NDMA). He has conducted bench-scale and pilot-scale treatability studies and technology evaluations to develop treatment systems for industrial manufacturing clients, power utilities, waste management clients, and CERCLA-regulated sites.

In addition to his work on evaluating, selecting, and designing these systems, Hari has extensive experience in system startup and commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting for a range of treatment technologies including granular activated carbon, ion exchange, high-pressure membranes, chemical reaction and precipitation, and biological treatment systems.

To advance the state of the practice, Hari works with technology vendors to assess nascent technologies and is actively involved in Geosyntec’s research and development. In this capacity, he collaborates with adacemia and industry to commercialize new technologies to address PFAS in groundwater and wastewater.
