Client Service

On behalf of clients, Hannah addresses emerging contaminants by engaging in site and remedial investigations, supporting litigation, and helping them comply with rapidly changing regulations and standards for sites including military installations, railyards, Superfund sites, and industrial facilities. To do this, she often employs knowledge gained through her applied research using innovative technologies to address PFAS and other emerging contaminants. Hannah also works at sites impacted by light nonaqueous-phase liquids and supports monitoring and recovery.

Hannah has helped develop guidance documents, presentations, and fact sheets on lines of evidence to assess the effectiveness of PFAS remedial technologies for both the US Department of Defense and the United Kingdom Environment Agency. Hannah has supported US Department of Defense Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) projects and Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) projects. Her ESTCP projects include assessing field scale-up, cost, and performance of ultraviolet/silica-based granular media treatment to destroy PFAS in concentrated liquids and conducting side-by-side assessments of PFAS destructive technologies.

To advance the state of the practice, Hannah coauthors papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented sessions at industry and regulatory events, including at RemTEC and Emerging Contaminants Summit, SERDP and ESTCP meetings, Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council events, USEPA Region 7 meetings, and the Engineering Society of Detroit/Solid Waste Technical Conference webinar series. She also supports the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Removal and Destruction Technologies PFAS sub-workgroup.
