Eric Amundsen is a Senior Consultant based in Massachusetts focused on energy transition, life cycle assessment, sustainability, and environmental policy.


Eric assists organizations by addressing their energy transition and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, and helping them to identify, manage, and report on the opportunities and risks associated with the shift to a lower-carbon economy. As part of the Energy Transition team at Geosyntec, Eric works with clients to prepare environmental life cycle assessments, develop achievable decarbonization goals, tackle the strategic and practical challenges associated with climate-related risk assessment and reporting, and create internal systems to manage policy and regulatory changes.

Eric is a former attorney and prior to joining Geosyntec, Eric practiced as a patent attorney, spending more than 20 years working with a wide variety of clients ranging in size from solo inventors to Fortune 500 companies. In this role, Eric drove business value for clients by understanding and communicating the opportunities and risks associated with their intellectual property and market position relative to competitors.

Eric also developed and taught a graduate-level survey course in Environmental Policy and Regulation directed to life cycle assessment, command-and-control and market-based regulatory approaches, and legal aspects of environmental regulation.
