Eric Amundsen is a Senior Professional Energy Transition Consultant based in Massachusetts who focuses on energy transition, life cycle assessment (LCA), decarbonization, sustainability, and environmental policy.

Eric assists organizations by addressing their energy transition and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals and helping them to identify, manage, and report on the opportunities and risks associated with the shift to a lower-carbon economy. As part of the Energy Transition team at Geosyntec, he works with clients to prepare environmental LCAs, develop achievable decarbonization goals, tackle the strategic and practical challenges associated with climate-related risk assessment and reporting, and create internal systems to manage policy and regulatory changes.

A former patent attorney, before joining Geosyntec, Eric spent more than 20 years working with a range of clients, from solo inventors to Fortune 500 companies. In this role, Eric drove business value for clients by understanding and communicating opportunities and risks associated with their intellectual property and market position relative to competitors.

In service to his field, Eric developed and taught a graduate-level survey course in environmental policy and regulation. The course addressed topics including LCAs, command-and-control and market-based regulatory approaches, and legal aspects of environmental regulation.
