David Bertrand is a Senior Principal Hydrogeologist based in Ontario with more than 25 years of experience in environmental consulting. David has directed and managed large interdisciplinary projects including contaminated site assessment and remediation of recalcitrant contaminants, brownfield redevelopment, waterfront revitalization and vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation.
David is a leader in Geosyntec's vapor intrusion practice and is a recognized expert in the oversight and management of large vapor intrusion investigations, community relations, and the design and installation of mitigation systems. David has directed and managed large remediation projects using the following technologies: self-sustaining treatment for active remediation (STAR) technology; multiphase extraction and enhanced bioremediation of dense nonaqueous-phase liquids; in situ thermal remediation; alternative approaches for in situ bioremediation of perchlorate; phytoremediation and excavation of soils containing chlorinated solvents; and mercury and petroleum hydrocarbons.
