Client Service
Dan specializes in alternatives analysis and selection, conceptual design, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, full engineering design, and construction-plan production. He often employs these skills on behalf of industrial stormwater clients facing regulatory compliance and enforcement challenges and municipal clients planning capital-improvement projects.
With an educational background and extensive professional experience in computer science and software engineering, Dan is also an accomplished programmer. Clients engage his services to develop tablet apps for scientific field-data collection, decision-support systems for desktop computers, web applications for dashboards, and data-visualization tools. He has recently been pursuing opportunities to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to help clients manage assets and analyze risk.
To advance the practice, Dan uses his research background to help develop guidance manuals related to stormwater on behalf of municipalities and regions. He also coauthors and leads technical reports, often on behalf of the United States National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP).
