Chris Dickinson is a Senior Consultant based Kentucky with more than 35 years of experience focused on civil engineering, with an emphasis in water resources and environmental projects, client management and development, and program management for civil and environmental contracts.
Chris helps clients with water resources and hazard management planning, resilience, and program management, including both public and private sector clients and property developers. Chris' work with various industrial clients includes food and beverage processors, power producers, distribution and logistics companies, and manufacturers. Chris' expansive government experience includes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE); Dam and Levee Risk Management Center; National Resource Conservation Service; Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); United States Environmental Protection Agency; Kentucky Division of Water; Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet; Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection; as well as water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities clients, and municipalities for planning, engineering, and construction services.
As a consultant, Chris specializes in stormwater quality and quantity, hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and modeling, environmental compliance, permitting, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, Oil Prevention Act services, risk management services for resilient communities, floodplain management and ordinance development, and managing FEMA programs including Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs and Community Rating System programs.
To advance the state of the practice, Chris serves on several community boards and is an active member of several organizations, including: Chairman of Infrastructure and Transportation Public Policy Committee for Greater Louisville, Inc.; member of Kentuckiana Post of Society of American Military Engineers; Executive Board member of First Tee of Louisville; member and past-chair of Legislative Committee American Council of Engineering Companies Kentucky Chapter; Kentucky Stormwater Association member; and a volunteer for the Louisville River Sweeps. Chris was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers - Louisville Chapter and State.
Throughout his career, Chris has created an extensive network of clients in the Louisville area, including USACE Louisville District, Louisville MSD, Louisville Water Company, Metro Louisville, Louisville Gas and Electric, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, food and beverage organizations including the Distillery industry, Akzo Nobel, Ford Motor Company, UPS, and General Electric.
