Carolina Ortega is a Principal based in Texas with 20 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues in the oil and gas, consumer products, and pharmaceutical industries.
Carolina has helped clients develop corporate sustainability strategies for implementation in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North and South America. Her experience also includes climate change strategy; social and environmental risk management; human rights impact assessments; stakeholder engagement planning; Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) investor and rater engagement; sustainability reporting, social and environmental performance management systems, and risk assessment for new-country entries.
As a consultant, her experience helps clients navigate challenges and successfully design sustainability programs that are closely aligned with their business goals, and help clients drive social, environmental and financial performance. Carolina has extensive experience in sustainability reporting, having assisted clients to develop a number of reports aligned with a wide range of reporting standards and frameworks, resulting in better engagement with investors, stakeholders, and ESG raters. She has partnered with clients to lead corporate-wide efforts to identify key material issues, and prioritize initiatives taking a risk-based approach.
To advance the state of the practice, Carolina has held leadership positions in a number of domestic and international industry associations working on environment, health, and safety (EHS) and sustainability. Skilled in cross-cultural communications, Carolina has followed her passion for global sustainability in six countries and speaks English, Spanish and French, and understands Portuguese.
