Client Service

In collaboration with design and construction teams, Andrew builds efficient geotechnical field explorations and practical designs that fit local geology and project objectives while targeting construction cost savings and mitigating risks related to geologic hazards. He manages services on several concurrent on-call contracts for regional municipalities where his team is sought-after for responsive, pragmatic, and strategic support. As lead geotechnical engineer, he helms multidisciplinary teams through complex designs related to landslide stabilizations and levee and floodplain projects, integrating key elements like civil engineering, structural engineering, and stormwater design.

Clients value Andrew’s in-depth understanding of local, regional, and national design standards related to transportation and bridge design. He brings extensive knowledge of the Washington State Department of Transportation, the Oregon Department of Transportation Bridge and Geotechnical Design Manuals, and the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AAHSTO) standards related to Load and Resistance Factor Design. Andrew also offers a strong working knowledge of United States Army Corps of Engineers standards related to the evaluation and design of dams and levees, gained through his experience completing designs and construction under their review, oversight, and approval.

Andrew is known for his work on projects overlying tricky soil conditions in shoreline and floodplain environments, and, in particular, for applying his comprehensive working knowledge of readily available and practical ground improvement and foundation solutions to mitigate hazards related to soft soil and liquefaction.
