Ali Ebrahimi is a Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer based in Texas with more than 20 years of experience focused on pipeline geohazard assessment, risk management, mitigation design, and monitoring.
On behalf of clients, Ali evaluates landslides, erosion, scour, ground movement, and other terrain-related threats affecting pipeline systems.
To identify, characterize, and manage geohazard risks, Ali applies advanced technologies such as LiDAR, remote sensing, geotechnical instrumentation, and IMU-based in-line inspection (ILI) data. He then develops innovative and cost-effective solutions to mitigate those risks, with a focus on enhancing pipeline integrity while minimizing long-term maintenance.
Ali is a recognized expert in pipeline geohazard monitoring processes, systems, and technologies, including in the development and implementation of monitoring programs aligned with ISO standards and industry best practices. He has led the design and deployment of geotechnical and structural monitoring systems for pipelines and other critical infrastructure and manages a nationwide monitoring program that processes more than 20,000 monitoring data points each day.
In service to his field, Ali contributed to the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) Joint Industry Project Guidelines for Management of Landslide Hazards for Pipelines; the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Manual on Subsurface Investigations; and the ISO Standard for pipeline geohazard monitoring processes, systems, and technologies.
