Geosyntec Welcomes John Banks as Associate

TAMPA, Fla. — Geosyntec Consultants welcomes John Banks, PE, as Associate. John has over 25 years of environmental engineering experience, including: all aspects of solid waste management; design of wastewater collection, treatment, and effluent disposal systems; stormwater system planning and design; roadway design; landfill design; operation plan development; and facility site selection and development.

Before joining Geosyntec, John served as project director and manager for a major engineering consulting firm, where he was responsible for client relations, project development, and oversight of project execution and performance. John, earlier in his career, served as manager of Manatee County Public Utilities Solid Waste Division. In this capacity, he supervised all aspects of the county's solid waste program — from providing landfill design and construction implementation to planning the county's future direction of waste disposal.

In addition to John's professional experience, he has taught portions of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations course as well as developed and taught a course on leachate management for the State of Georgia. John has served as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Florida's TREEO Center, where he teaches landfill design courses.

John earned his Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from the University of South Florida.
