Geosyntec Welcomes Jennifer Holder
SANTA BARBARA, Ca. — Geosyntec Consultants welcomes Jennifer Holder, PhD, as Principal. Jennifer's background in ecological risk assessment and extensive experience on large, complex sites has resulted in her excellent reputation for successfully assisting clients in reaching site-closure in a variety of regulatory contexts such as RCRA, CERCLA and NRDA.
Jennifer has conducted ecological assessments in aquatic, sediment, and terrestrial habitats for a number of private sector clients and large Department of Defense facilities. Her field experience includes performing ecologically related field work in a number of different habitats, including the tropics (Brazilian Amazon, Hawaii, and south Florida), Gulf Coast wetlands, and in desert, coastal, and inland valley habitats in California.
In addition, Jennifer is well known for her contaminated sediment management experience, especially within San Francisco Bay. She has worked on the majority of the PCB contaminated sediment hotspots in the bay. For these projects, she was the senior technical ecological lead, responsible for setting project strategy, developing sediment cleanup goals for PCBs and other contaminants in sediments, and for negotiating with large stakeholder groups. She has successfully closed a number of sediment sites within San Francisco Bay, including some of the Navy's first Records of Decision (RODs) at sediment sites.
Jennifer earned a PhD in zoology from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
