Geosyntec Practitioners to Present at the Western Groundwater Congress of the Groundwater Resources Association of California

Andy Simons, P.G., Elisabeth Hawley, P.E., and John Merrill (California) will present at the 5th Annual Western Groundwater Conference of the Groundwater Resources Association (GRA) of California at the Sacramento Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, California from September 19 through 21, 2022.

Andy Simons is a Senior Geologist based in California. He has 17 years of professional experience performing and managing site investigations and remediation activities on a variety of projects. Andy's experience includes regulatory negotiations, data analysis, and field program management for projects that include soil and soil vapor assessments, groundwater well design and installation, and installation and performance monitoring of remedial systems.

Elisabeth Hawley is a Senior Consultant based in California. She has 17 years of experience with a variety of environmental restoration projects involving site characterization, fate and transport, remediation, and strategies to achieve site closure. Her primary area of expertise focuses on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and emerging contaminants.
John Merrill is an Engineer based in California. He has experience in environmental site investigation and remediation, litigation support, and applied research in collaboration with university partners. John's work focuses on emerging contaminants, including PFAS, 1,4-dioxane, and 1,2,3-trichloropropane.

The theme for the GRA's 2022 Western Groundwater Congress is "Built For Change" and will address diversity, equity, and inclusion in the groundwater community. The conference features individual, panel, and poster presentations as well as technical workshops on water resources exploration and development, groundwater management, contaminant assessment and remediation, unique challenges, and new opportunities in the field.

The GRA of California is dedicated to resource management that protects and improves groundwater supply and quality through education and technical leadership.
