Geosyntec Practitioners to Present at WOCA Conference

Many Geosyntec practitioners will make significant contributions to the World of Coal Ash (WOCA) Conference 2022 on May 16 through 19, 2022 in Covington, Kentucky.

WOCA is the leading international conference on the science, application, and sustainability of coal combustion products (CCPs). WOCA 2022 will be the ninth biennial meeting on CCPs and gasification products worldwide. The conference is hosted by the American Coal Ash Association (ACAA) and the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research (UK CAER).

Geosyntec consults with clients to achieve their goals for new and expanded ash and residuals storage facilities, closure and reuse of existing storage facilities, and the management of leachate, unplanned releases, and groundwater impacts related to coal combustion activities.

The ACAA supports the development, implementation, and continuation of effective programs for the management and use of CCPs. Members share a common interest in using CCPs as valuable products to enhance revenues, minimize disposal costs, reduce liability, and support environmental policies.

With a long tradition of fossil fuel research, UK CAER investigates energy technologies to improve the environment. The Center's researchers contribute to technically-sound policies related to fossil and renewable energy by addressing topics including CCPs, biofuels and clean fuels, materials technologies, organic electronics, and power generation.
