Geosyntec Staff to Present Advanced Technical Sessions at the 2021 Business & The Environment Conference and Expo

Ben Starr, P.E., CESCL, (Utah), Jason Flowers Ph.D., P.E., (Washington), and James Peale, RG, LHG, (Oregon) will present at the 2021 Business & The Environment Conference and Expo presented by the Northwest Environmental Business Council (NEBC), Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology). This year, the event will be held virtually.

Geosyntec staff will all be participating in the conference's advanced technical sessions. Ben Starr will moderate a session entitled "Management of Waste Containing PFAS" on December 1 from 11:15 a.m.  to 12:15 p.m. PST. Jason Flowers will speak during a moderated session entitled, "Integrated Water Management Meets Wastewater" on December 1 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. PST. His fellow speakers will be Daniel Burchard of the University of Puget Sound and T.J. Mothersbaugh of WaterTectonics. Kim Marcus of ERM will moderate the discussion. James Peale will moderate a session entitled, "Emerging Contaminants" on December 1 from 2 to 3 p.m. PST.

Ben Starr is a Senior Engineer with more than 15 years of experience in environmental and water resources engineering. I serve as the lead engineer and project manager for remediation, habitat restoration and civil infrastructure projects in upland and marine environments.

Jason Flowers is a Senior Engineer with more than 21 years of experience in drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment, planning and design, in situ bioremediation, and vapor intrusion. Jason's doctoral research investigated the microbial species involved in biological phosphorus removal, and his postdoctoral research concerned the microbial interactions involved in anaerobic digestion.

James Peale is a Principal Hydrogeologist with more than 25 years of experience focused on legacy site management, contaminant fate and transport, and environmental forensics. James designs and implements in situ remedies for chlorinated solvent DNAPL sites, investigates manufactured gas plant DNAPL sites, and provides support for legacy sediment sites.
