Geosyntec Practitioners Contribute to 2021 USSD Virtual Conference
Several Geosyntec practitioners contributed to sessions for the 2021 United Society on Dams (USSD) Virtual Conference to be held virtually between May 10 and 21, 2021.
Over twelve presentations during the conference were developed by a suite of our practitioners, including Derek Morley, Brandon Lanthier, John Barrett, Jamey Rosen, Andrew Higgins, Bhrugesh Patel, Robert Bachus, Kate Darby, Julia Roberts, Tamer Elkady, Glenn Rix, Lelio Mejia, Chris Hale, Wes MacDonald, Rob Annear, Rich Wildman, and Lucas Nguyen.
Scheduled over a two-week period, the 2021 USSD Virtual Conference program will include technical sessions on multiple topics, including Geosyntec presentations on dam safety risk analysis, foundations and monitoring, construction, tailings dams, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and seismic engineering.
USSD is dedicated to advancing the role of dam and levee systems and building the community of practice. As the United States member of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD), USSD provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences and is charged with leading the profession of dam and levee engineering. USSD is led by a Board of Directors representing all sectors of the industry, including consultants, contractors, owners, and academia.
