Chris Conkle, P.E., G.E. (Huntington Beach, California)
Chris has 17 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and project management, including the management and execution of design, analysis, quality assurance monitoring, and geotechnical investigations for a variety of geotechnical systems including dams and levees. Chris earned an M.S in Geoengineering and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley; and is a registered Professional Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer in California.
Christine LaPrade (Kennesaw, Georgia)
Christine has distinguished herself as an integral business partner and a key resource to special corporate projects as the South Region’s Regional Financial Manager. In her 14 years with Geosyntec, Christine has developed valuable financial tools and analyses that substantially improve business decisions and financial performance. Christine earned a BBA in Accounting from Kennesaw State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Georgia.
Cindy Bartlett, L.G., R.G. (Portland, Oregon)
Cindy has 21 years of professional experience and serves as a project manager for large, complex sites located predominantly in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and California. She has managed CERCLA compliant remedial investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cleanup action plans, as well as Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments for commercial, retail, and industrial sites. Cindy earned an M.S. in Geology from the University of Missouri-Columbia; a B.A. in Geology from Whitman College; and is a Washington State Licensed Geologist and an Oregon State Registered Geologist.
Craig Browne, P.E. (Tampa, Florida)
Craig has 19 years of experience in the areas of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. He has worked extensively in the design, permitting, and construction of landfills for municipal, hazardous, and radiological waste materials. Craig earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas; a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tufts University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida.
Doug Bielskis, P.E. (Walnut Creek, California)
Doug has 26 years of experience in environmental engineering, including extensive project work involving environmental restoration studies, hazardous materials inspections, engineering designs, and remedial actions. He has led interdisciplinary teams in executing complex projects and has managed virtually all aspects of hazardous waste site investigation and cleanup. Doug earned an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of California, Berkeley; and is a registered Professional Engineer in California.
Emmie Chen, P.E. (Kennesaw, Georgia)
Emmie has experience in all phases of environmental site characterization and has also supported numerous litigation efforts for client liability valuation and cost allocation at complex upland and sediment sites through evaluations of contaminant forensics and site ownership/use history. Emmie earned an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology; a B.S. in Environmental Science and Minor in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill; and is a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina.
Garry Stanley, P.G. (Oak Brook, Illinois)
Garry is a Senior Geologist with more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience including on-site investigation, groundwater assessment and remediation, and vapor intrusion evaluation and mitigation. Garry earned an M.S. in Geohydrology from Illinois State University; a B.S. in Geology from Illinois State University; and is a registered Professional Geologist in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Wyoming.
Heather Rectanus, Ph.D., P.E. (Columbia, Maryland)
Heather is a strong leader in the Federal sector, providing proactive project management to clients, and forming interdisciplinary project teams. Heather earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering and a B.A. in German from Kansas State University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin.
Herwig Goldemund, Ph.D. (Kennesaw, Georgia)
Herwig has 20 years of experience as an environmental scientist and project manager focused on soil and groundwater geochemistry; site assessment and remediation under CERCLA, RCRA, and state-led regulatory programs; contaminant sequestration; bioavailability and uptake; and the use of passive remediation technologies such as phytotechnologies, constructed wetlands, and natural attenuation. He earned a Ph.D., in Forest Resources (Forest Soils) from the University of Georgia and a Dipl.-Ing. in Applied Ecology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Austria.
Jane Barnes (Acton, Massachusetts)
In her 10 years with the firm as a Regional Finance Manager, Jane has consistently established herself as a valuable resource, using her expertise to make significant contributions across geographies and functional areas. She has been a vital support to many key initiatives across the firm. Jane earned a B.S. in Business from Gordon College.
Jarad Champion, P.E., BCEE (Chicago, Illinois)
Jarad has more than 15 years of experience in consulting on hazardous waste remediation and water resources projects, including vapor intrusion mitigation, hazardous waste remediation, industrial compliance with stormwater and wastewater regulations, and litigation support. Jarad earned an M.S. in Environmental Engineering and Science from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists and a registered Professional Engineer in California, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
Jeff Thompson, Ph.D., P.G., C.H.G. (Long Beach, California)
Jeff’s practice focuses on strategic consulting for environmental litigation. Within this practice, Jeff brings his considerable expertise in in geology, geochemistry, and environmental modeling to groundwater and engineering geology applications. Jeff earned a Ph.D. in Geophysics with a doctoral minor in Civil Engineering, an M.S. in Geophysics from the California Institute of Technology; a B.S. in Earth Sciences from the University of Southern California; and is a registered Professional Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist in California.
Jessica Yeager, P.E., LSP, (Kansas City, Missouri)
Jessica has more than 11 years of professional experience in environmental engineering, specializing in remedial design and implementation. Jessica earned a M.Eng. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Harvard College. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Oklahoma; and is a LSP in Massachusetts.
John Barrett, P.E. (Johnson City, Tennessee)
John has more than 11 years of experience in geotechnical design, construction, and management and is a key contributor to the firm’s geotechnical and dams practice areas. His experience includes construction oversight during landslide stabilization and dam remediation projects; analysis of geotechnical field and instrumentation data; inspections of dam safety; analysis of earth and concrete dam stability; deep foundation design; and the design of embankments over soft ground. John earned an M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University College Dublin, Ireland; an M.C. in Geotechnics from Missouri University of Science and Technology; a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Florida State University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee.
Lane Dorman, P.G. (Pensacola, Florida)
Lane has more than 13 years of experience in nonhazardous and hazardous waste management. His expertise spans site investigation; contaminant fate and transport evaluations; remedial technology feasibility studies; remedial technology pilot testing and selection; and remediation system design, construction, operation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization. He earned an M.S. in Hydrogeology from Clemson University; a B.S. in Geology from the University of South Alabama, Mobile; and is a registered Professional Geologist in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
Maygan Cline, P.G., QSD/QSP (Santa Barbara, California)
Maygan has extensive experience managing groundwater quality and remediation projects, as well as groundwater and surface water resource planning and management projects. Maygan earned a B.S. in Geological Sciences form the University of California, Santa Barbara and is a registered Geologist and Qualified Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan Developer and Practitioner (QSD/QSP) in California.
Nick Muenks (Jefferson City, Missouri)
Nick has 20 years of experience addressing a diverse range of water quality issues. He has experience with remedial site investigations, stormwater characterization, agricultural and urban Best Management Practices, watershed management, development of water quality-based effluent limitations, assessment of beneficial uses, development of site-specific water quality criteria, and wastewater impact evaluations. Nick earned a B.S. in Biology from Lincoln University.
Teresa Fischer, BCES (Knoxville, Tennessee)
Teresa has 33 years of experience in environmental consulting, specializing in site investigation and remediation; environmental compliance program development and auditing; due diligence; and environmental management. She has served as a program manager for site investigation and remediation, environmental compliance, and due diligence for clients in the food and beverage, transportation, oil and gas, manufacturing, real estate development, legal, and government sectors. She earned a B.S. in Geology from the University of Florida; is a Board-Certified Environmental Scientist, American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists; and is certified in Environmental Site Assessments for Commercial Real Estate by ASTM International.
Thomas D. Amstadt Jr., P.E., CFM (Orlando, Florida)
Thom serves as Project Engineer and Manager on water resources projects for state, county, and city government clients. His key areas of expertise include stormwater and flood plain modeling and design. He earned an M.E. in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida; a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida; is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida; an ASFPM Certified Floodplain Manager; and is a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Certified Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector.
Wayne Amber, Ph.D. (Ann Arbor, Michigan)
Wayne has 16 years of experience in the environmental/civil engineering, including corrective measure and feasibility studies under the RCRA and CERCLA Programs; solid waste and geotechnical design; remediation system designs and field implementations, with a focus on bioremediation technologies and risk- based closure strategies; environmental due diligence support; field investigations; and project management. Wayne earned a Ph.D.in Geoenvironmental Engineering and a B.Eng., Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cardiff University, United Kingdom.
Yonas Zemuy, P.E. (Huntington Beach, California)
Yonas has 17 years of experience in landfill and geotechnical engineering. His expertise includes engineering design and construction oversight of landfill liner systems, water balance covers, cut-off walls, laboratory testing programs, oil and gas well abandonment and mitigation measures, and building foundation systems. Yonas is advancing the use of remote sensing and monitoring at landfills. Yonas earned an M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering and a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles; is a registered Professional Engineer in California.
