Bora Baturay Joins Geosyntec Consultants to Focus on Geotechnical and Earthquake Engineering Services
Bora Baturay, Ph.D., P.E., G.E. (California) recently joined Geosyntec Consultants as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer. He has more than 18 years of experience as a subject matter expert in geotechnical and earthquake engineering services for public and private sector clients.

At Geosyntec, Bora will focus on Geosyntec's Geotechnical and Geological Analysis, Modeling, and Engineering practice. This practice includes geotechnical infrastructure and foundation engineering, offshore geotechnical engineering and geohazards, geohazard response and mitigation, and dams and levees.
In past roles, Bora has served as Geotechnical Engineer on numerous high-profile projects including design, construction, and evaluation of dams, hospitals, water treatment plants, landfills, tanks, pipelines, gravel mine operations and reclamation, and seismic retrofit for buildings.
Additionally, he was a member of the National Science Foundation earthquake reconnaissance team following two major earthquakes in Turkey after which significant amount of data was collected advancing the liquefaction hazard evaluation methods. Bora has also authored, and co-authored technical papers related to ground motion characterization and liquefaction assessment.
