Ron Gestler and James Linton Presented on Phytotechnology for Remedial System at U.S. EPA Engineering Forum

Ron Gestler (California) and James Linton (Florida) presented "The Application of Engineered Phytotechnology for Remedial System Optimization and Ultimate Site Closure –Two Case Studies" at U.S. EPA Engineering Forum on January 6, 2021.

At the U.S. EPA Engineering Forum Ron and James gave a brief description of Engineered Phytoremediation and a short summary of the key benefits of using that type of technology. They also discussed its limitations, benefits, and management considerations. They concluded the presentation with two case studies.

Ron Gestler is a Senior Scientist based in California with 18 years of professional experience in remediation services. He has participated at every level in the design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring for remediation systems using a variety of technologies including phytoremediation, bioremediation, in situ chemical reduction and oxidation, and others. He has successfully implemented and operated large-scale, multi-year remediation programs at sites in the United States and Canada to address a number of environmental pollutants.

Jim Linton is a Principal Environmental Scientist based in Florida with more than 30 years of experience focused on site assessment and remediation. He specializes in innovative contaminated site investigations, remedial strategy development, biological population studies, wetland restoration, phytoremediation and regulatory compliance. Jim has developed feasibility studies and innovative remediation solutions for manufacturing facilities in the pesticide, electronics, and aerospace industries.

The mission of U.S. EPA is to protect human health and the environment.
