Christina Pump and Matt Basso to Present on SARS-CoV-2 Virus Detection at NYWEA's Metro Chapter Virtual Event

Christina Pump (New Jersey) and Matt Basso, CHMM (New Jersey) will present "Using SARS-CoV-2 Virus Detection as an Advance Warning System for Municipal, Industrial, and University Facilities" on September 15, 2020 at 5:30 – 7:00 PM EST.

Christina and Matt will be the featured presentation at the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) Metropolitan Chapter's "Impacts of COVID-19 on the Water and Wastewater Industry" virtual event. The event will be presented by the Chapter's University and Young Professional Committees.

Christina Pump is a Staff Scientist currently based in New Jersey. She has a strong international background, focused on research in Austria and New Zealand, including projects targeting soil and groundwater contamination. Her primary focus is environmental remediation and developing sustainability within the industrial sector.

Matt Basso, CHMM is a Senior Consultant based in New Jersey with more than 30 years of experience focused on environmental due diligence processes and environmental health & safety (EHS) compliance auditing while employed in Fortune 100 corporations within the pharmaceutical sector; deep experience in Industrial Hygiene with key strengths in site investigation and remediation.

NYWEA was founded in 1929, by professionals in the field of water quality as a non-profit, educational organization. Association members helped lead the way toward existing state and national clean water programs. Today the Association has over 2,500 members representing diverse backgrounds and specialties, but all are concerned and involved with protecting and enhancing our precious water resources. The Metropolitan Chapter is a section of NYWEA which includes members from the Metropolitan area of New York.

Event Description

Part I - Feature Presentation titled, "Using SARS-CoV-2 Virus Detection as an Advance Warning System for Municipal, Industrial and University Facilities" presented by Christina Pump (Staff Scientist, Geosyntec Consultants) and Matthew Basso CHMM (Senior Consultant, Geosyntec Consultants).

Part II - A moderated panel discussion with our industry experts on COVID-19 and the water/wastewater business. Dr. Robert Sharpe will moderate the discussion with Angela Dellilo (Assistant Commissioner, Bureau of Wastewater Treatment, NYC DEP), Keith Mahoney (Division Chief Regulatory Planning, NYC DEP), Vatche Minassian (Vice President, HDR) and Michael Barnes (General Counsel, Carollo).

It will conclude with a Q&A session with the speakers.
