Beau Hodge, P.G. (North Carolina) Beau has more than 25 years of experience focused on environmental site investigation and remediation with an emphasis on recalcitrant compounds including chlorinated solvents, creosote, and coal tars. He is a professional geologist with expertise in developing assessment, remediation, and closure strategies. Beau leads a highly successful groundwater department in Raleigh. His business development model combines primary leadership and collaborative teamwork with colleagues. Beau is passionate about recruiting and serves as a Regional Recruiting Coordinator (RRC) and leads efforts to network at universities and bring in both entry-level and experienced candidates. Beau earned his B.S. in Geology from Washington & Lee University and is a North Carolina Licensed Geologist.
Chris Robb, P.E. (Wisconsin) Chris has more than 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, remediation design and construction, quality control, and project management for solid and hazardous waste remediation projects throughout the United States. Chris is a nationally recognized expert in in situ solidification/stabilization (ISS) design, treatability studies, and implementation. Chris demonstrates collegiality in his working relationships with numerous colleagues in the firm, including significant project opportunities in Denmark and Australia. Chris earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin– Milwaukee; and is a Professional Engineer in Florida, New York, and Wisconsin.
Dave Bertrand, P.G. (Ontario) Dave has more than 20 years of experience in environmental consulting and has directed and managed large interdisciplinary projects including contaminated site assessment and remediation of recalcitrant contaminants, brownfield redevelopment, waterfront revitalization and vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation. He has been a long-time member of our Vapor Intrusion (VI) Practice Group and helps guide practice development efforts through the VI Steering Committee. Dave earned his B.Sc. in Earth Science with a Hydrogeology Specialization from the University of Waterloo, Ontario and is an Ontario Professional Geoscientist and New York Professional Geologist.
Elaina Modlin, P.E. (Florida) Elaina has more than 20 years of experience focused on a wide variety of environmental services including regulatory compliance and permitting, risk management, environmental due diligence, and contaminated site assessment and remediation. Since 2004, she has made significant contributions to the firm on a national scale in recruiting, mentoring, and serving as Geosyntec's recruiting program manager for 10 years. Always attentive to safety, in her 20+ years with Geosyntec, there have been zero recordable safety incidents on her projects. Elaina earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and is a Florida Professional Engineer.
Julia Caprio (Tennessee) Julia has more than 25 years of experience focused on the environmental engineering sector and particularly in analytical laboratory capabilities and programs. She leads the firm's data quality program and provides a wide range of training and leadership that brings unique value to the firm. She specializes in project quality management, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), and the development of quality assurance management plans (QMPs). Julia also conducts data verification, evaluation, and validation, and QA audits, including laboratory and onsite field audits. Her contributions enhance the products we provide clients and reduce client risk. Julia earned a B.S. in Biology from Lock Haven University; an M.A. in Organizational Management from Tusculum College; and an M.B.A. from Upper Iowa University.
Leah MacKinnon, M.A.Sc., P.Eng. (Ontario) Leah has more than 20 years of professional experience in the United States, Canada, and Europe focusing on remediation of groundwater containing recalcitrant and emerging compounds using innovative in situ technologies. Leah is co-Branch Manager of Canadian Operations and responsible for three departments with more than 58 staff members. She has demonstrated her passion for developing remedies for complex sites and service excellence, earning a number of long-term clients who appreciate the outstanding client service and project delivery she provides. Leah is recognized within the firm for her expertise in bioremediation, chemical oxidation and lab treatability studies; and colleagues seek her out for guidance in developing these remediation systems. Leah earned an M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo; a B.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo; and is an Ontario Professional Engineer.
Melissa Asher, P.E. (Washington) Melissa has more than 14 years of professional experience focused on contaminated site assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance. She is active in the groundwater practice group. A Women's Mentoring Program Steering Committee member, Melissa also currently serves as the Seattle office Engineering Group Leader and remediation technical expert. Melissa earned an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley; as B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Cum Laude; and is a registered Civil Engineer in California, Washington, Colorado, and Idaho.
Scott Graves, P.E. (Texas) Scott has more than 25 years of experience focused on geotechnical, environmental, and water resources engineering. He specializes in landfill design and permitting, waste site remediation, and construction management/construction quality assurance (CM/CQA) for public and private clients in the waste management, electric utility, petrochemical, redevelopment, and hazardous waste site markets. Scott and his team provide geoenvironmental design expertise and are critical to executing flywheel projects and programs for the firm. Scott's continued business development and work in the waste industry and resiliency projects helps diversify our geoenvironmental practice. Scott earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis from the University of Texas at Austin; a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio, and six other states.
Victor Damasceno, Ph.D., P.E. (North Carolina) Victor has more than 12 years of professional experience focused on geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering related to solid waste containment facility design and permitting, civil design and closure management related to dredged materials, and coal combustion residuals (CCR) impoundments. Sharing work with 200+ colleagues around the firm, he leads a geoenvironmental practice that is renowned for its client appreciation and loyalty, technical leadership, productivity, profitability, and project management excellence. He has also collaborated with colleagues across the firm in winning projects with seven new clients in the last two years. Victor earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison; an M.S. and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brasil; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and North Carolina.
